Year 2007 Race Results!

For those of you who haven't been on our club trails, let me explain a
bit. We are a coastal village, which translates as windswept [ pic].
There are no trees here and therefore we get a lot of snow drifting and
sastrugi [ pic].
This makes for slow trails, or icy where the snow has blown away. Of
course, there may be some of you, used to groomed trails through the
forest, who would hesitate to use the word 'trails' to describe our
race courses. The race times may reflect these conditions.

We’re not sure what happened with Mr.
Millea’s time – looks like maybe he didn’t
actually complete the whole course – Our apologies if we
goofed up on the timing.

We had to make a new
course this year because the conditions on much of the traditional
was rock, ice and tundra. Because of this it was a little harder to
scout the trail. The dogs weren’t expecting the trail.
However, we think everyone had a good time – conditions were
windy, chilly and the trail was hard, fast and rough in spots.
Thanks to everyone who helped out with dogs, sleds, snowmachine
support, timing and the mushers. The Kennel Club really hopes the
mushers all had fun – we think the dogs did!
